Small Group Leaders
What is my role during Small Group Time?
Sparks and T&T leaders gather with a small group of 3 to 5 children to:

Greet the kids and pray together.
Explain spiritual truths and help with understanding.
Look for opportunities to build relationships with Sparkies.
Be ready to present the Gospel.
Help kids memorize Bible verses and sign off completed handbook sections.
Follow Awana’s recommended standards for reciting verses:
- Recite all verses in a section in one sitting.
- Allow two helps per memory verse (a help is a few words or a gesture).
- Recite the reference with the verse.
Help with crowd control during game time and cheer them on!
Engage parents during family nights.
